TA Group (TAG) is an S corporation founded in July 2016 by 30-year veteran, Ayahlushim Getachew.

Ayahlushim Getachew is the founder of TA Group, certified, DBE/SBE small business founded for the purpose of providing full service consulting in real estate acquisition/disposition and valuation, construction management/project management, information technology, marketing, advertising , branding and strategic management consulting. Ayahlushim gains her considerable real estate experience from various previous positions. As Senior Vice President at Thomas Properties Group (TPG). Ms. Getachew was responsible for leading TPG’s efforts in advising NBC Universal on the 400 acre “Evolution” master-plan and the senior executive responsible for the entitlements and predevelopment activities associated with the 2.5 million square foot Wilshire Grand hotel, retail and office project located in Downtown Los Angeles.

Previously, Ms. Getachew was a partner and managing member of Kensington Holdings; a family owned boutique real estate Development Corporation, that acquired, rehabilitated and disposed of an approximately $200 million portfolio of multi-class real estate assets.

Prior to her tenure at Kensington Holdings, Ms. Getachew served as the Regional Administrator overseeing the Downtown Los Angeles region for the City of Los Angeles’ Community Redevelopment Agency. This region encompassed approximately 5,600 acres, wherein she administered an annual budget of approximately $130 million. In addition to the financing and development of approximately 200 units of affordable housing each year, she was also responsible for implementing the project area goals for each redevelopment community, including acquisition and relocation, negotiation, financing, disposition, asset management, project management and securing approvals for specific projects such as:

  • Disney Concert Hall (Bunker Hill)
  • Angels Knoll Park (Bunker Hill)
  • Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels (Central Business District),
  • Venice/Hope Park (Central Business District)
  • Construction of Upper 2nd Street (Bunker Hill)
  • Development of the Hope Manor Apartments
  • Negotiations related to the Staples Center and the Convention Center Hotel (Central Business District)
  • Site acquisition, relocation and transfer of 26 acres for the $2.5 billion LA Live Development

Ms. Getachew began her work at the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency in 1990 in the affordable housing division. During her five years in this division, Ms. Getachew was responsible for the development for the annual pipeline of 1,000 units of affordable housing.

Ms. Getachew received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Pomona College in Claremont, California.
